Empire Lyric Players will be holding auditions for The Gondoliers on Saturday, February 15, starting at 9:00 am at the Washington Park United Methodist Church in Denver. Casting for adults and advanced teens. An accompanist will be provided.
Dramatis Personae:
Marco- Tenor
Giuseppe - Baritone
Luiz- Calls for Baritone, often played by a Tenor
Gianetta and Casilda- Soprano
Tessa- Mezzo Soprano
Duke- Baritone
Duchess- Contralto
Don Alhambra- Bass/baritone
There are also several small supporting roles and a large ensemble.
Rehearsals begin Friday, February 28, 2014, with rehearsals on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Performances will be May 31 and June 1, 5, 7, and 8 at the Elaine Wolf Theater at the Jewish Community Center.
For an audition, please contact David at davidhodel@comcast.net to secure a time and receive the music. Please include your name, voice type, contact information, and any roles you are interested in. You will be asked to sing a small section of the show music (memorization not necessary).
The cast is all-volunteer and is expected to work on sets and sell tickets. There is no pay.
